------------------------------------------------------------- New SSA-OBAD Support Group to Start in September The SSA, Edmonton & Area Chapter is pleased to announce that we will be partnering with the Calgary-based Organization for Bipolar and Affective Disorders (OBAD) to offer biweekly support groups in our Edmonton Support Centre meeting room for family members and people living with related illnesses. The group will start in September 2008. The office has been renovated. The staff have been hired and trained. We are now accepting referrals of clients who have housing but need to learn basic skills to live independently successfully. Please click here to learn more about this unique peer-based housing supports service and download the referral documents. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Edmonton Schizophrenia Conference 2008 The 16th Annual Edmonton Schizophrenia Conference on October 2nd and 3rd will focus on "Strategies for Living with Schizophrenia". Visit the conference website to get more information. One of the key messages at this year's conference is related to the shift in thinking about the possibilities of recovery.
